Snow Jumpers

Snow Jumpers is an original fast-paced race to the center game. It's an extension of our Blizzard's End world brought to life through hand-crafting, original miniatures, electronics, and tablet/phone interactivity.

Snow Jumpers

Snow Jumpers was an inspiration we had the day after playing our Blizzard's End game with the family. The first game was a long RPG style adventure. This time we focused on making the opposite. It needed to be fast, intuitive, and fun. The result was a competitive winter game where factions race, block, and battle for control of the crystal center in quick, high-energy rounds.

Project Snapshot

What it is
A hybrid tabletop game that uses physical minis and a game board connected to an tablet-based scoring app.
Why we made it
We wanted to build something the kids would want to play again immediately. (And they did.) Something that had really compelling characters and a completely different look and feel than our previous games.
How it works
Players control winter themed animal teams, use action and chaos cards, to fight for control of the crystal center while tracked pieces score points over time.
What makes it special
A lot, The player tokens are cute and cool, hidden RFID tags let the physical board interact with digital scoring, blending handcrafted play with responsive tech. Even non-players to engage in the game like spectators at a sporting event.

Why this project matters to us

For Snow Jumpers, we did the most play-testing than for any other game we've made to date. It kept the heart and handmade charm of our family projects, but it also showed us how strong an idea becomes when we prototype for clarity, speed, and joy first.
