Our first world diorama was well on its way. We had transformed our rock starting platform into a world of its own and it was getting big. This was going to be a problem…
It was the smallest one of the 5 worlds. Seeing the size of the Rock world, we realize that it would be nearly impossible to store and transport a whole medieval village diorama or a giant Egyptian cliffside.
We did not say much about it to each other, but one morning, we both woke up with the same idea that we needed to break everything apart before moving on to the next step and be too late in the process. So we sketched a version of all the sections as separated dioramas.
With that plan on hand, we pulled out the crafting knife and cut our Rock world foam slab apart to create a base for the central platform and the rock pillars.
This was a radical change of plan, but it was for the best. We were so new at crafting and we didn’t know how big things could get. This was a valuable lesson.
